Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc. to Host Biennial Meeting in Los Angeles
More than 1,000 Ladies and Teens Will Convene in July
Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc., (TLOD) a national community service organization serving youth and adults, will host Syn-Lod, its biennial convention July 5-9, 2023, in Los Angeles, Ca. During the conference, led by National President and CEO Lady Sharon J. Beard, more than 1,000 attendees will celebrate service milestones, salute chapters and their service to the community and honor community leaders who have made a significant community impact in the lives of citizens everywhere under the theme “Transforming Lives One Moment in Time… Acknowledging the Service, Respecting the Tradition and Continuing the Legacy.”
This year, TLOD will honor Reverend James Lawson, Jr. and the Honorable Barbara Lee for their service to our community and our country. The Award Ceremony will take place Friday, July 7, 2023, at 7 p.m. at J.W. Marriott Hotel L.A. Live.
“We are extremely excited to once again hold Syn-Lod in person this July,” said Lady Beard. “The global pandemic forced us to pivot and host our last conference virtually, but even though we weren’t together, the engagement and attendance were historic and tremendous. This year, we will celebrate the achievements of the Transformation Administration, one that was shaped by the circumstances that faced our country and, through that, elevated and created new opportunities to serve and transform our communities.”
Among the accomplishments to be featured will be:
■ More than 350 Top Teens participating in Top Teens of America, TLOD’s most important program thrust celebrating 54 years of providing leadership opportunities to our next generation of leaders.
■ Good Health Wins partnership with the National Council of Negro Women has engaged the community in many health-related events.
■ Legislative activations in the area of sickle cell disease awareness, equality, justice, and voter registration.
■ Record attendance at the 2021 Syn-Lod Conference
■ President’s Lifetime Achievement Award of presented to several members of the organization, including Lady Sharon J. Beard, National President and CEO
